In 2017, Tincept was established by a self-taught artist who grew up in England and Sri Lanka.
The story of Tincept began with copper and brass jewellery and a visit to an antique dealer. Upon sharing progress of a collection of jewellery, Tincept founder, Tamarra Jayasundera, was advised to go down the path of art, the start of something new for her. Exploring bigger, it captured her essence and unfolded a journey of self-discovery and expression.
Her work reflects the fusion of two contrasting cultures, drawing from her background in Biology and Fashion. Her body of work in art includes graphic prints, acrylics on canvas, and layered abstracts, often utilizing copper, brass, and stainless steel. Her signature flowing lines balance the extremities of the medium and contrasting culture, reflecting a process of alchemy and technique achieved through meditation. Tincept also offers accessories and apparel. Now moving into a digital space where international art lovers can easily access the collections and other products.
